February 2014

To residents of Curnock Estate

Dear resident

Further to concerns about anti-social behaviour in the communal areas of the Curnock estate the Council will soon be installing two temporary CCTV cameras. The cameras will monitor the two squares to the south of the estate. Any incidents that do take place can be reviewed within 28 days and used as evidence.

The effectiveness of these cameras will be assessed and reviewed in three months' time, when we will consider whether there is a need to keep them in this location. Operation of the camera will adhere to the CCTV Surveillance Code of Practice which means that only qualified operators will be able to monitor and record any incidents. Evidence will only be kept where it relates to crime and disorder.

If you wish to discuss this installation please contact the Community Safety service on 020 7974 4444 or by email to communitysafety@camden.gov.uk

Comments

I have just received this February 2014 newsletter that informs the residents of the Curnock Estate that CCTV cameras will be installed on the South Part of the estate only.

It would be very interesting to find out how did the police reached that decision. Who provided them with the information that shows that ONLY the south part of the estate has problems?

Is that information coming from the non existence TRA?
Is it coming from residents and/or councillors?
