New Information About The Major Works 2

New Information About The Major Works 2 It seems to be a discrepancy between the information that we have received during the consultation period and the information that we have received via the Freedom Of Information Act.

We have requested some clarifications from the council but Mr Mike Fegredo, Contract Manager for those works, has described our requests for information as a "futility of such petty endeavours."

Dear Resident,

Freedom of Information Act 2000

Your request for information, received on 30 May 2013, has now been considered. You requested:

1) You mentioned that they will be 1x Grundfos TPE125-70/4 pump per boiler. This means 3 pumps in total. However there are and will be 8 pumps in the boiler house according to Mr Tony Bowcutt from Apollo. Could you please provide information about the 5 remaining pumps (old and new)?

There are 3 existing HW pumps, and 3 pairs of heating zone pumps, a pair of primary heating pumps and pair of primary hot water pumps. We are installing 3 new boiler circulation pumps (Grundfos pumps). All existing pumps remain in operation and the new pumps are additional items of equipment.

2) What is the model number of the current Babcock Robey shell boilers?

The model number of the existing boilers is BRY.H.1171 (1993)

We trust that the information provided is useful to you.

Dear Mr Fegredo,

I just found out under the freedom of Information Act that:

"There are 3 existing HW pumps, and 3 pairs of heating zone pumps, a pair of primary heating pumps and pair of primary hot water pumps. We are installing 3 new boiler circulation pumps (Grundfos pumps). All existing pumps remain in operation and the new pumps are additional items of equipment."

My understanding from our chat during the consultation meeting with the residents was that all current pumps will be replaced with new ones and the old ones will be removed. Please confirm if that is correct. If my understanding is not correct then please clarify how many pumps will be inside the boiler room after the major works.

Secondly I would like to ask you if you managed to find if I can have a copy of the boiler room layout or not.

Finally please have in mind that the current temp setup is extremely noisy and a major disturbance for the residents that are trying to sleep.

Yours sincerely

Dear Resident,

Thank you for your email.

In response; I have forwarded your email to our consultants/contractors to clarify matters in regard to your 1st point.

Please note that as your request is;

Potentially quite exhaustive in regards to resources.

has no bearing on the quality, performance and programme of the current installation being managed.

unfortunately, it is not deemed a priority in the overall scheme of things and it may take a while to collate, however be assured that I will pass this information to you upon receipt.

I believe I had dealt with this enquiry, however, affording the benefit of doubt, the practice is that we do not provide specific details in regard to the contract design, however, we are able to arrange for you to attend our offices to view any designs we have available to us that are pertinent to the scheme, under specified and controlled conditions. Given the sensitive nature of the information and intellectual copyright laws it will not be possible for you to take photocopies of the designs.

Regarding your final comment, we are acutely aware of the various temporary anomalies with the transition from the old system to the new and are dealing with matters as they arise as quickly and effectively as possible. We address the small minority of concerns raised by individuals and assure residents that we are not insensitive to their concerns and that these issues are only temporary.

It would however be reassuring to know that people recognise the enormity of the scheme and are willing to show some degree of understanding and appreciation for what is trying to be achieved.

Finally, I thank you for taking the initiative to present yourself as spokesmen for those who may wish to comment, but acknowledge the futility of such petty endeavours.

We will be in touch.

Kind Regards

Mike Fegredo

Dear Mr Fegredo,

Thank you for your email.

I am looking forward for your answer regarding the pumps because that will hopefully clarify the residents' confusion about the works.

I hope you remember that in our meeting I had specifically asked about the pumps and the noise that is generated from those pumps. Mr Bowcut at that time had reassured me (as well as the other residents) that the pumps will change and the new ones will be better, newer technology and hopefully quieter. However the requests under the FOI revealed a completely different picture from the information that the residents were let to believe.

Sorry if the residents' requests for information seems to be futile and petty but the residents as taxpayers who pay for those works has the right to know.

Thanks for your efforts.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Resident,

Thanks for your email.

I believe my earlier responses are self- explanatory.

We will need to wait until such time as the information you have requested is collated, you will then be contacted.

Please do not attempt to paraphrase my words it is not conducive to any meaningful progress. My comments are transparent for all to see. All specific requests from residents are dealt with individually, as it is courteous for us to do so. If you have been elected spokesperson by others we will need validation of this. In the interim, you will have to forgive the fact that we are unable to give any consideration or weight to your assumed collective representation.

As you see we are addressing your requests. Allusion to others comments/views are irrelevant, but thank you for your comments.

Dear Mr Fegredo,

Sorry If you got the wrong impression from my email.

Could you please explain to me what do you mean when you say: "acknowledge the futility of such petty endevours". I am asking that because two other residents found your email derogatory and offending. Please explain.

Secondly if you need a "validation by others" then we can have a meeting in order to provide you with the appropriate evidence. Please also have in mind that at the moment I own 2 flats in Goldthorpe and live in another one. Plus there are another 4-5 flats that can support my claims at any time. Of course there are more than that but I will need to ask their explicit authorisation before I can release their details.

Finally please have in mind that since the Curnock TRA does not exist any more and the residents DO NOT have any representation due to council's efforts to do major works unopposed then I assume CSE Group is the only alternative.

I will wait for your explanation and information about the pumps.

Yours sincerely
